Welcome to the memorial page for

Arthur "Reese" Williams

February 8, 1928 ~ August 3, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Arthur Reese (Pedro) Williams, age 89, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, reuniting with the love of his life, Selma Hislop Williams, less than 3 weeks after her death.  In addition to his wife, Reese was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Malinda Williams; brother, Allison Williams; and sister, Mary Jane Kelley.  He is survived by his step-children, John Hislop, Jr. and wife, Kim of Fredericksburg, VA, Daniel Hislop of Los Angeles, CA, and Susan Marshall and husband, Stephen of Tampa, FL; brother, Neil Williams of Whitesburg; nieces, Donna Stansberry and husband David of Rutledge and Ann Devers and husband, Ralph of Las Vegas, NV; along with several great-nieces and a great-great-nephew.  As a charter member of Manley Baptist Church, he served as a deacon and was a faithful member of the O. D. Smith Sunday School Class, taught by his dear friend, Tom Kaylor. The family will receive friends at Manley Church on Saturday, August 5 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Dr. Tony Buchanan, Rev. Alan Duncan, and Mr. Tom Kaylor officiating.  Interment will follow at Jarnigan Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, it was Reese’s wish that donations be made to Manley Baptist Church in his memory. Manley Church was one of the most important things in his life, aside from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his church family meant so much to him.  The family would like to sincerely thank Trudy Darnell and the staff at Regency Assisted Living.  They always went above and beyond in their service to him and Selma.  Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
