Charlie Jefferson Devotie, 87, of Jefferson City, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went to his eternal home on Monday morning, September 26, 2016. He attended Tabernacle of Prayer and Praise. He was devoted to God, family, church, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents George Willard and Gerthie Ethel Devotie; brothers, Jim Devotie, Rev. Paul Devotie, Edward Devotie, Floyd Devotie, and John Devotie; sisters, Bertie Devotie, Rosa Devotie, Dolly Gass, Gladys Gass, Ruby Shropshire, Dorothy Cox, and Lula Bell Cross; and grandson, Jimmy Case, Jr. 

He will be missed by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Devotie of the home; children, Ethel (Jim) Case of New Market, Jane (Ronnie) Humbard, Phillip "Buster" (Gail) Devotie, and Jonathon Devotie, all of Jefferson City, Bertie (Dwight) Hensley of Newport, and Robin (Norman) Smith of Bybee; brothers, Rev. Joe (Judy) Devotie and David (Diane) Devotie of Jefferson City; sister, Ruth (Fred) Ball of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Amy (Doug) Johnson, Tim (Stephanie) McDaniel, Jason (Carla) Case, Jeremy (Jaime) Spencer, Chuck Devotie, Matt Humbard, Gary Looney and Jessie Brock; great-grandchildren, Josh, Whitney, Jessica, Merina, Trevor, Brittany, Haley, Hannah, Hunter, Christian, Taylor, Talon, Camden, Elizabeth, Kylie, Brookelyn, and Carson; 8 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to hospice nurses Julie, Pat, Chasity, S.W.,Gina, and Dr. Carter. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 28 at House of Prayer Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Garland Sergent and Rev. Joe Devotie officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 29 at West View Cemetery in Jefferson City. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
