Edd Brian Mills, age 54, of Morristown, went home to be with Jesus after a brief battle with cancer early Sunday morning, September 10, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side. Edd was loved by many, always had a smile on his face, and never met a stranger. Edd worked in the family business, Mills Landscaping, Inc., alongside his father, Roger Mills, for over thirty years as a heavy equipment operator. He continued the career he loved up until his sickness, working with his nephew, Chase Mosley, at All Seasons Landscaping. Edd was always a very hard worker and would go out of his way to help others. Edd was preceded in death by his infant son, Dustin Albert Mills; paternal grandparents, Landon and Viola Mills; maternal grandparents, Kyle and Osie Greene, all of Sneedville. Edd is survived by his wife and best friend, Krissy Mills; parents, Roger and Ruth Mills; children, Brian Joshua Mills, Benjamin Kyle Mills, and Lindsey Mills; step-sons, Derik Canter and Jason Hughes; grandchildren, Jordan, Corbin, and Isiah Mills; step-grandchildren, Landen, Collen, Nataley, and Bella, all of Morristown; brothers and sisters, Debbie (Craig) Mosley of Bulls Gap, Vickie Ann Mills Warmkessel of Morristown, and Roger Lee (Melissa) Mills of Sneedville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends that loved him dearly. The family would like to thank the nurses of Avalon Hospice Service for their care and compassion shown to Edd. The family would also like to express their thankfulness to the members of Holt’s Baptist Church and friends in the neighborhood for their continued support and kindness expressed through this time. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 12 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Alan Lamb officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 13 at Mills Family Cemetery in Hancock County for graveside services. Pallbearers will be brother, Roger Lee Mills, nieces, Shana Mosley and Alison Warmkessel, and nephews, Chase Mosley, Travis Mills, and Tyler Parker.
