Ella V. Jones Smith, age 92, of Morristown, passed away peacefully Monday, December 5, 2016 at her residence. She attended Kidwells Ridge Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Wayne Smith; first husband, Charles Edward Jones; parents, Henry and Effie Rogers; brother, Charlie Ray Rogers; and sisters, Norma Mae Hedrick, twin sister, Ethel Hutchinson, and Mildred Treece. She is survived by her children, Lynda Brogan of the home, Rob Friddle, whom she loved as a son, Jerry (Carol) Jones, Johnny (Pat) Jones, Dan (Laura) Jones, and William (Tammy) Jones; sisters, Ruth Ventress, Cora Marie Moses, and Betty Brown; special friends, Bill and Virginia Mitchell, Belinda and Johnny Blevins, and Katie Townsend; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Special thanks to nurses, Cheryl Ann Whitaker, Cindi Wheeler, Sarah Walker, and Chaplain, Garland Sargent. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 7 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Garland Sargent officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 pm on Thursday, December 8th at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
