George Solomon Sadakne: It is with great sadness that the family of George Solomon Sadakne, age 85, of Morristown, announces his passing after a courageous battle with pneumonia and cancer on Sunday, October 15, 2017. George was born in Soda Syria on January 28, 1932. He moved to the United States in 1964 to pursue his degree. He eventually graduated with his Master’s Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1972. He became a nationalized citizen of the United States in 1972 as well. He worked for many years for and retired from Mahle. George was married to the love of his life, Ruth Mathis Sadakne at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Knoxville on April 25, 1969. They were married for forty-eight years. George was an active member of Manley Baptist Church for many years and was baptized there. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Millstone Golf Club for many years. George was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Helani Sadakne; brother, Sajie Sadakny; and sisters, Dia Owayjan, Martha Sadakne, and Zahia Razzouk. George is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Sadakne; children, Tamara Sadakne Foster and her husband, Michael and Amera Helani Sadakne, his princess; sister, Wida Rajjouh; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. Thursday, October 19 at Manley Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with Dr. Tony Buchanan and Rev. Alan Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
