John R. Odell, age 79, born July 16, 1936, of Bean Station, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Remadel O’Dell; baby daughter, Johnnie Lynn; mother, Della O’Dell; and sisters, Alice Peters and Fay Musick. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Michael) Howerton; sons, Russ and Jimmy O’Dell; grandsons, Josh Howerton, Laith Howerton, Robbie Stewart, and Michael O’Dell; and sisters, Nora Banner and Shirley House. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday, May 28 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William Bradley officiating. Family and friends will meet at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at Central Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
