Lewis Coe Humphries, age 70, of Morristown, formerly of Greensboro, North Carolina, walked the golden streets of Heaven with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 14, 2018. He served in the U.S. Army 173rd Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. He has been a truck driver for the last thirty-eight years. He had an irresistible charm and wit that will be missed by all who knew him. There will forever be a void in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Eloise Humphries. He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Carolyn Humphries; daughter, Ashley (B.J.) Cameron; grandsons, Dayton Short, Trae Cameron, and Landon Cameron; aunt, Dorothy Coe Foster of Clifton Forge, Virginia; close friends, Dennis Miracle and Nola Attak of Alcoa; and many more family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Winstead officiating. Military graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Friends may also call at the home of the family.
