Lilla K. Travis

Lilla K. Travis, 96, went to Heaven on March 4, 2018. She was born October 15, 1921 to the late Charles S. and Emma D. Kizer in Brantley County, Georgia.  She was a 1937 graduate of Brantley County High School where she was a varsity basketball player. She loved watching sports and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John H. Travis, of Morristown, TN; a son, W. Ray Harrell; step daughter, Sandra Ryburn; brother, Emery Kizer; and sisters, Eldis Parks and Mary Lou Allen. Mrs. Travis is survived by a son, Robert K. Harrell (Virginia) of Raleigh, NC; a step son, Dana Travis of Morristown, TN; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Talbott, TN at 11a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 with Reverend Brian Rhodes officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be 3 grandsons and 3 great grandsons. The family will receive visitors in the church fellowship hall following the services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
