Marvin R. Ferrell, age 71, of Bean Station, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at his residence. He retired after 20 years of military service in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 52 of Morristown and a life member of Disabled American Veteran’s Chapter 17. He attended Victory Baptist Church and Lakeshore Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Elvin Ferrell and Ruby Conner Ferrell. He is survived by his wife, Judith M. Ferrell; daughter, Renee Jackson of Chase City, Virginia; sister, Patsy Towery of Chase City, Virginia; several grandchildren; and many friends. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Burford officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
