Max Daryl Murphy II, age 71, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at Life Care Center of Morristown. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He worked for the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department where he was a deputy. He also was an E.M.T. for the Morristown Volunteer Rescue Squad. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather and was a people person who never met a stranger. He loved his church and was looking forward to Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Daryl and Betty Ann Murphy. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Linda Murphy; daughters, Kim (Greg) Singleton of Russellville and Amanda (Tommy) Perryman of Gatlinburg; granddaughter, Katie (Trevor) Smith; great-grandson to be, Trenton; sister, Martha (Karl) Krause of Wolfe Lake, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, October 8 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Wheeler officiating.    Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
