Melissa Dawn Carter, age 42, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Carter; grandparents, Bob and Maude Carter and Imogene and Richard Burgin. She is survived by her son, Matthew Ryan Carter; sisters, Teresa Carter (Ray) Weatherholt and Debra Carter; brothers, John (Misty) Carter and Randy (Nicole) Carter; special friend, Jimmy Self; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, October 29 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 30 at Bethel Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
