Wanda Gail Watkins, age 66, of Morristown, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at her residence. She was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the City of Morristown after twenty-seven years. She began her career with the City at the Parks and Recreation Department and after the new City Center was built, she was the first maintenance supervisor. She was instrumental in the beginning of the H.A.W.K. program and she received the “Key to the City” presented by former Mayor, Danny Thomas. She was a loving and devoted daughter who cared for her mother during her illness and was also a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Jackie Roberts; and brother, Bobby Roberts. She is survived by her son, Johnny (Jamie) Watkins; daughter, Tracy Lynn Watkins; grandchildren, Jonna, KeiAndra, Kaitlyn, Bailey, and Bode; brothers, Vance Allen Roberts and Larry (Patricia) Roberts; sister-in-law, Sandi Roberts; several nieces and nephews; and Angela and Kendal Greene, whom she loved like her own daughter and granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Ken Cole and Rev. Justin Self officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16 at Resthaven Cemetery in Dandridge for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
