Roy James Metcalf

Roy James Metcalf, age 90, of Talbott, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his residence. He was a member of Talbott Baptist Church. Roy was a loving father and grandfather, to the point that his grandsons have written English papers about him. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Sue Metcalf; parents, Jim and Zula Metcalf; brother, Benny Metcalf; and sister, Nell Woolard. He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Onkst and Deidra Metcalf; grandchildren, Mitchell Seal (Michelle), Dylan Onkst (Sophia), and Drew Onkst; great-grandchildren, Rylen Poe and Madison Seal; brother, Paul Metcalf; sister, Phyllis June Metcalf Parker; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Wade McCullough officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
