Angela Dawn (Curry) Tharp

Angela Dawn (Curry) Tharp, age 43, of Morristown, received her wings to Heaven on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Angie was born on April 25, 1975 in Man, West Virginia to James Cecil and Janice Curry. She was the youngest of four children and loved being the “baby of the family.” She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Kathleen Curry and Paul and Myrtle Ellison; uncle, Clyde Curry; special aunts, Tammy Vance and Drema Copley; and her second mom and dad, Pedro and Teresa Toler. Angie was deeply in love with her husband of fifteen years, Michael Tharp. Her life revolved around all her family, especially her two children, Anthony Curry, 22, whom cared for her selflessly, never leaving her side during her long illness and Faith Tharp, 13, was the light of her life. She always referred to Faith as “my miracle baby girl.”Her favorite niece, Jessica Elkins, 25, whom she told daily how proud of her she was. Angie felt blessed to be step-mother to Savannah Tharp, 27, and Alex Tharp, 25, both of Morristown. Those left to cherish her memory until they can walk the streets of gold in Heaven together are: brother and hero, James (Cathy) Curry of Whitesburg; sisters, Pam (Larry) Hahn of Chattanooga and Kim (Chuck) Elkins of Dandridge; nephews, Joshua Curry, the one she lost in Walmart and Matthew “Baby Huey” Curry, her Phase 10 card buddy she always helped cheat; niece, Heather (Wesley) Lee of New Market; one and a half great-nieces, Kyleigh Curry of Whitesburg and Avery Rose Lee, due to make her appearance at Christmas.   The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 5 at the funeral home with Rev. John Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
