Billy “Bill” Edward Lawson, age 80, of Talbott, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Serenity Hospice Home. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pauline Lawson; and father and mother-in-law, Howard and Ruth Ragsdale. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Gloria Lawson; brother, Junior (Glenda) Lawson; sisters, Norma Wilmeth and Shirley (Buster) Potter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky (John) Gates, Dean (Paul) Sakach, and Dr. Doris Ann Ragsdale (Dr. Lynn Smith); aunt, Dorothy Buttry; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to the staff of Serenity Hospice House and hospice nurse, Cathy Slater. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 18 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Private military graveside services will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Serenity Hospice House, 1052 Kennedy Circle, Morristown, TN 37813.
