Bobby Glenn Cockrell, age 87, of Morristown, born on December 18, 1931, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at his residence. He was a member of Economy United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bobby was a truck driver for forty-five years and retired from Roadway Express after twenty-seven years. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Ernest and Florence Goodman Cockrell; and six sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Cockrell; daughter, Cheryl Slemp; sons, Doyel Cockrell and Joey Cockrell; step-daughter, Cindy (Richard) Idell; step-sons, Tom (Oney) Dudley, Dan (Lavonda) Dudley, and Jeff (Carol) Dudley; grandchildren, Jarrett and Elliott Morie, Erica Bailey Slemp, Ashley and Courtney Cockrell, Kayla Danielle Cockrell, and Joshua Glen Cockrell; step-grandchildren, Ben (Casey) Idell, Josh and Matt Inman, Dean (Dena) Dudley, Alan (Becky) Dudley, David Dudley, Yesenia Sanchez, and Yainey Ponce; thirteen great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Tammy Frizzell; and special friends, Ted Martin, Earl Bare, Charlie Myers, and Dewayne Sliger. Special thanks to the staff at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System and to Covenant Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, November 14th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Allen Shupe officiating.
