Christine (Posey) Woods

Christine Woods, age 94, of Morristown, formerly of Oneida, TN, went home just in time for Christmas. She left on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, perfected in the twinkling of an eye with her Lord and Savior from her home surrounded in the love of her family. Christine attended Manley Baptist Church in Morristown, but her letter of faith is held at Mount Zion Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as a young girl. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Duncan Posey; father, Fred Posey; and brothers, Odie Posey, Homer Posey, Wilburn Posey, and Harold Posey. She is survived by her children, Don (Nancy) Woods, Sparky (Jean Ann) Woods, and Debbie (Gary) Salansky; grandchildren, Dennis (Jaymie) Woods, Anna (Brian) Barnes, Casey (Lauren) Woods, Emily Woods, Garrett Salansky, and Matthew Salansky; great-grandchildren, Dillon and Cara Woods, Jamison and Chamberlain Barnes, and Waverly and Sawyer Woods; two precious sisters, Louise Reed and Joyce Keck; along with many other relatives. Christine was born on September 10, 1924 and after WWII, she married her sweetheart, Onis Woods, whom she loved unconditionally and faithfully along with his family until his death in 1991. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she was a friend to all. She passed on a tremendous work ethic and kind spirit to her family. Her family extends special thanks to her caregivers (especially Wendy Coffey and Katie Pratt) along with Amedysis Home Health and Hospice, whose support was in allowing for her wish to remain at home. The family will receive friends from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday, December 15th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Garrett Salansky to conduct the service. Family and friends will meet at 1 pm Sunday, December 16 at Hazel Valley Cemetery in Oneida for graveside services.
