Dewey H. Standifer, age 81, of Morristown, passed peacefully from his home to his Heavenly reward on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Dewey was a faithful member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church. He was retired from Berkline Corp. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Opal Standifer; son, Richard Standifer; father, Comma Standifer; mother, Ida Ratliff; brothers, Charlie Standifer, Reuben Standifer, and Grover Standifer; sisters, Geneva Seal and Jeanette Heath; and half-brothers, Dannie Ratliff, Hughie Ratliff, Wayne Ratliff, George Ratliff, David Ratliff, and Billy Ratliff. Dewey is survived by his son, Donnie (Frances) Standifer of Morristown; grandson, Garrett Standifer of Morristown and Josh (Theresa) Standifer of Simpsonville, SC; and great-grandchildren, Dawson Standifer and Triston Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rilee and Melody Standifer of Morristown, Makayla and Ella Standifer of Simpsonville, SC, and Jim Smith of Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, January 8 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Justin Self and Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9 at Bethesda Cemetery for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
