Doris Ann Brabston Farmer, age 84, of Kingsport, formerly of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 after a brief illness. She attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church for the past twenty-five years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Rosa Lee Brabston; grandson, Nicholas Farmer; sisters, Velma Simpson, Margaret Hayes, and June Carpenter; and brother, Wayne “Tuffy” Brabston. She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Ernest Farmer, Jr. of Kingsport; sons, Mark (Daphney) Farmer of Kingsport and Rusty Farmer of Knoxville; and very special granddaughter, Elizabeth Farmer of Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, May 19 at Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. Friday at the church with Dr. Greg Burton and Dr. James Royston officiating. The family will also receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown. Graveside services will follow at 12 p.m. Saturday at Jarnagin Cemetery.
