Doug Deering, age 73, of Morristown, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 15, 2019. To his girls, he was their everything! We were lucky to have him as our Dad. To Dad: We love and miss you; your lessons, memories, and stories will be cherished forever. We love you, kid! Doug had a heart like no other – always giving and always caring. Those who knew him know his love for motorcycles, stories, and time with friends. He will be greatly missed by many. Doug was proud of being a Shriner, a part of the Morristown Area Keep America Beautiful organization, and a board member at South Knoxville Worship Center. He loved his church and church family. He was a superintendent with the City of Morristown Public Works for forty-three years, where his love for his community and the people in it could be seen every day. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ethel Deering. He is survived by his daughters, Tommie (Stan) Kasior, Jessie (William) Jamieson, and Katie Deering (Cody Bible); and granddaughter, Emily Ooten. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Stan Kasior, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19th at Jarnagin Cemetery for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
