Frank D. “Buttermilk” Rogers, age 77, of Morristown, walked through the gates of Heaven on Sunday, January 5, 2020. He was born on May 13, 1942 in Grainger County. Frank never let his disability limit him. He was a leather maker early in life and made billfolds, purses, bags, and belts. He spent countless hours in his work shop making swings, gliders, bookcases, picture frames, and wooden crafts of all kinds. For years, he raised a huge garden, sharing with friends and neighbors and canning the surplus. For the last twenty-nine years, he made memories at Douglas Lake Campground fishing, visiting with friends on the porch, and telling stories around the camp fire. He enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles, and cross stitch. Frank had many friends and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and truly enjoyed giving to others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Lucy Rogers; half-brother, Jimmy Meek; and step-daughter, Cheryl Rice. He is survived by his wife and life partner of forty years, Pat Rogers; children, Tonya (Ronnie) Mann, Roxanne (Jake) Moser, and Marsha (Joe) McNeil; grandchildren, Jake Mann, Cailey Mann, Jarrett Moser, Jackson Moser, and Jonas Moser; and siblings, U.M. Rogers, Nellie Greer, and Ginger Cantwell. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 7th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 8th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given to the building fund at Lebanon Baptist Church, 7925 Greenbriar Road, Talbott, TN 37877. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
