Fred Lester White, age 92, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was a member of Alpha Baptist Church and an over the road truck driver for over thirty five years. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and received the Silver Star Award and was also Commander of the Disabled Veteran’s Association. He was a life-time member of the VFW and American Legion and a member of the under-age Veteran’s Association. He was also heavily involved with the Teamsters Union. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty White; parents, Earl and Orpha White; sister, Norma Yokmoza; and brother, Clyde White. He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn White Goedde and her husband, Craig of Redington Shores, FL and Carolyn White Kitchen of St. Petersburg, FL; and grandchildren, Cynthia Wilynn Kitchen, Michael Aaron Kitchen and his wife, Rea Beca-Kitchen, Amanda Blackmon, and JonDavid Blackmon. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Chris Keathly officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for military graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
