George Lee Price, age 82, of Morristown, departed this life on Monday, August 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 10, 1936 in Hawkins County and grew up in Hancock County. He was a member of War Creek Baptist Church. George was a retired truck driver from RSO Trucking Company after forty-eight years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Virgie Price of Sneedville; sisters, Clara (Dana) Johns and Mary (Gaston) Johns; brothers, Arlie Thomas Price and Barnette Price; brothers-in-law, Johnny, Sidney, Dewey (Ann), Jack, and Douglas (Jean) Hobgood; sisters-in-law, Eunice (Beasley) Bell, Myrtle Stephens, and Lucille Leggett. He is survived by his loving wife, Eve Price; sister, Billie Doris (Johnny) Trent of Morristown; in-laws, Martha Price of Sneedville, Betsy (Charlie) Tabor of Maryland, Dennis Leggett of North Carolina, Harold (Bobbie Jean) Hobgood, Ann Hobgood of North Carolina, Joanie Fisher of North Carolina, and Bobby (Wanda) Hobgood of Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Amedysis Home Health and staff, Morristown-Hamblen healthcare System, and and Avalon Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, August 31 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Dr. Larry Parrott officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
