Harley Lloyd Johnson, age 90, of Morristown, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morristown and the owner and operator of Johnson Department Stores in Morristown, Newport, and Erwin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Loreain Johnson; and parents, Sam “S.C.” and Ollie Johnson. He is survived by his special children, James “Josh” (Teresa) Meek and Zilpha “Cissy” Meek; grandchildren, Brandon (Rachel) Meek, Kayla (Joel) Bowers, and Cassie Meek; great-grandchildren, Emerson Meek and Zoe Bowers; brother-in-law, Jay Towles; special friends, Wayne and Mildred Miller; and numerous other friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Erwin Healthcare who loved him like their own family. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Danny Georges officiating. Family and friends will meet at 3 p.m. Friday, June 9 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
