Harold Lloyd Johnson, age 87, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Heritage Center. He was born on June 2, 1931 in Williamston, Michigan, the first-born to farmer Leonard Anthony and Verna Thelma (Sellon) Johnson. Harold graduated from Baldwin High School in 1949 and was drafted into the United States Army (1951-1953) and was stationed at Camp Cook, California. He served during the Korean War and served as a supplies clerk. After the war, Harold started working at the Oldsmobile plant in Lansing, Michigan, working various jobs in Olds for thirty years. He retired from Oldsmobile in 1980 and moved his family to Morristown. Harold spent many years trying to do the Lord’s work by being active in the churches in which he was a member in. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carole Johnson; brother, Lyle Johnson; and grandson, Nathan Jones. He is survived by his sons, Tom (Karen) Johnson of Michigan and Daniel Johnson of Knoxville; daughters, Susan (Brad) Penney, Mary Sampson, and Cherie (Landell) Aday of Arkansas; step-sons, Mark Walker and Paul Walker, both of Michigan; sisters, Linda Kloepfer and Cheryl Johnson; special friend, Carol Rupe; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 30th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Robert Emmert officiating. Interment will follow at Sunderland Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
