Harry Glyn Southern, age 85, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Union IBEW 760 and was retired from Tennessee Associated Electric. He was preceded in death by his seven year old son, Terry Lee Southern; parents, Robert Lee and Mabel Lee Southern; brothers, Eugene, Audra, and Hollis Southern; and sister, Francis Cantwell. He is survived by his wife, Martha Evelyn Southern; daughter, Donna (Timothy) Gilmer; grandchildren, Josh Glyn Gilmer and Jason (Hope) Gilmer; great-grandchildren, Christian Gilmer, Racheal Gilmer, Amy Henry, and Faith Henry; brother, Ralph Douglas Southern; sister, June Shockley; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Caris Hospice and nurse, Justin Harris. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Thursday, November 9 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Shane Pierce officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, November 10 at Bethesda Cemetery for military graveside services.  Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
