Hazel Godwin-McClellan Obituary

Hazel Bray Godwin McClellan, lifelong resident of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Mrs. Godwin was 94 years old. Mrs. Godwin was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard. She also was a lover of antiques and enjoyed many years of collecting. She especially enjoyed working with her daughter in her estate sales, enjoying many friends in Alabama. She was widely known for her love of animals and volunteered for years at the local Animal Shelter, many times bringing home a stray which ended up finding their forever home with her. She was a member of First Baptist Church and although she was unable to attend church in her later years, she loved listening to the weekly services. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Della Bray; sister, Edith Wright; and brothers, Homer Bray and Mac Bray. She also survived her husband, Jack T. Godwin, who passed away in 1981; and also later, her second husband, Sherman McClellan. She is survived by her son, Jack T. Godwin, Jr.; daughter, Linda G. (Karl) Shogren; two granddaughters, Carole Anne (Johnny) Redding and Jamie Allen (Chris) Judy; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Austin Redding and Nicole and Sarah Taylor Millerakis; along with a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Morristown Animal Shelter. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
