Johnny Ralph “J.R.” Witt, age 86, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of West View Baptist Church and was employed at American ENKA for forty-three years. He was a volunteer for the Rescue Squad for eighteen years, a volunteer for Central Services for five years, and was a driver for the Senior Citizens Center for five years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Witt; parents, Dave and Callie Witt; and brothers, James and Doyle Witt. He is survived by his children, Mildred (Buck) Frazier of Fort White, FL, Johnny (Teresa) Witt of Columbus, NC, and Audrey (Mike) Pope of Baneberry; sister, Helen (Kenneth) Rednour of Mosheim; grandchildren, Krystal Hughes, Tonya Bibb, Brandi Witt, L J Witt, and Amanda Lloyd; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; three nieces; two nephews; and sisters-in-law, Rena Mae Witt and Ruth Witt. The family expresses thanks to his special friends, the Greene family. Per his request, Mr. Witt will be cremated with a private family burial. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 5th at West View Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Greene officiating.
