Michael Bunch Obituary

Michael Lynn Bunch, age 68, of Dandridge, passed away at home on Saturday, August 10, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was a member of Calvue Baptist Church. He was the only child of the late Rev. Hubert and Betty Bunch. Mike studied accounting at Carson-Newman University. He was a contractor for decades in Hamblen and Jefferson Counties and served as president of the Home Builders Association of Morristown. Mike retired from FedEx after twenty years of service and was presently the owner and operator of Douglas Lake Campground in Dandridge. An avid fisherman, he belonged to the Cherokee Bassmasters fishing club, enjoyed farming and classic cars as well, and he loved to travel. He was able to bring a smile to everyone with his quick wit and sense of humor. Mike set an example of unfailing love and devotion. His greatest passion was for his family, his loving wife of forty-nine years, Darlene; son, Todd (Gina) Bunch; daughter, Cynthia (Marc) Stinnett; and grandchildren, Hunter Bunch, and fiancé, Gabriel Stapleton, Bailee Harris, Connor Bunch, Cannon Bunch, and David Stinnett. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 13th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 14th at Hamblen Memory Gardens with Dr. Chris Keathly and Henry Drinnon officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
