Myrtle Ann “Me-Maw” Trent, age 90, of Bean Station, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 after a brief illness. Many have known her for her delicious cakes and the best chocolate chip cookies you ever ate! She always stayed busy but when she finally did rest, it was in her rocking chair listening to her favorite Rock ‘N Roll music. She was a member of Duck Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin D. Trent; parents, Hugh and Eva Grove; brothers-in-law, Bunky Harris and Donald and Sylvan Trent; sisters-in-law, Donna Grove, Lena Depew, Marjorie Greene, and Elsie Carroll. Family left to miss her include, daughter, Margaret Rhea; former son-in-law, Millan D. Rhea; granddaughters, Lisa (Jason) Spoone and Sonya (Ted) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Gabe Johnson, all of Bean Station; sisters, Peggy (Renus) Rich of Winston Salem, NC and Mary Catherine Harris of Rockingham, VA; brother, Hugh Grove of Baltimore, MD; and she also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the love and care shown to her and her family by Morristown-Hamblen ER, IMC Unit, Case Management Department, Dr. Ramaprasad, Dr. Mejia, Dr. Yarid, Dr. Pratt, as well as the wonderful staff of Heritage Center and Rehab facility. Per her adamant wishes, there will be no funeral or graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
