Paul Wayne Bowles

Paul Wayne Bowles, 82, of Morristown passed away peacefully on September 24, 2019 at his residence. He attended Alpha Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years and was honored as Deacon Emeritus in 2018 in celebration of his many years of service to the church. He was also a greeter at the church and sang in the Celebration Choir for many years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Mason and Shriner. After retiring from Roadway Express after 32 years, he spent several years transporting children to Shriner's Hospital in Cincinnati and Greeneville.  Preceding him in death are his parents, Paul and Effie Bowles, twin sister, Pauline Cannaday, Florence Hughes and brothers Larry and Douglas Bowles. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Shirley Bowles, daughters Melindy Morgan, Pam (Jeff) Wright, and Paula (Bobby) Horsley, all of Morristown, and brothers Sandy and Kenneth Bowles, and sisters Francis Johnson, Bonnie Angel of Virginia and Willie Mae Lovelace of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kasey (Dustin), Coleman, Conner, Lindsey (Stephen), Grayson, Abby, Graham, and Cooper; Also several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice and every member of his care team, especially Corbin, Sherman, Patrick, Daphne, Pam, and Rev Goins. He also leaves behind special friends Barbara and Ted Martin. The family will receive friends 1-3 pm Saturday, September 28th at Alpha Baptist Church and Celebration of Life service will follow at 3 pm with. Dr Chris Keathly officiating and special friend Gene Owens will be assisting with the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be retired Roadway Express drivers and Deacons of the church. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Alpha Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
