Ralph Edward Adkins, Sr., age 83, of Morristown, formerly of Branchland, W.V.,went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his residence. He was a member of Lowland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Song Leader. Ralph was retired from Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Adkins; parents, Henry Fisher Adkins and Reedith Adkins; siblings, Chester Adkins, Raymond Adkins, Dorothy Payton Caldwell, Howard Adkins, Garnett Adkins, and Bessie Williamson; and brother-in-law, Jerry Adkins. He is survived by his children, Joann Hayes of Morristown, TN, Ralph, Jr. (Cindy) Adkins of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and Michael Adkins of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Kimberly Hayes, David (Hannah) Adkins, Brian (Lyndsey) Adkins, Rachel (Michael) Collins, Rebecca (David) Miller, and Shaunah (Jon-David) Scott; great-grandchildren, Ella Collins, Noah Miller, Grayson Scott, and Jackson Scott; siblings, Paul (Regina) Adkins, Delphia Adkins, Golden (Wampy) Adkins, and Allen (Stephanie) Adkins; brother-in-law, Rocferd Adkins; and he was also loved by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Holt and Rev. Buck Marshall officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 17 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
