Robert "Bob" Lawrence McCoy, Jr.

Robert “Bob” McCoy, age 57, of Treadway, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was saved at Duck Creek Baptist Church during revival and was very proud to let everyone know that they had to break the ice to be baptized. His favorite bible verse was II Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” and he lived this verse. He was an extremely hard worker, a provider, and not ashamed to share his faith with others. Bob loved golfing, fishing, hunting, his dogs “Piper Jo” and “Zoey”, and his church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert McCoy and Mary Ruth “Sue” McCoy; and mother and father-in-law, Carol and Olin Maxey. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years and the absolute love of his life, Jill McCoy; his three daughters, whom he was so proud of, Lauren, Meredith, and Sarah Grace McCoy; his grandson, who was his pride and Joy, Asher Cole Hurd; brother, Mark (Tina) McCoy; nephew, Evan (Kylie) McCoy; sister-in-law, Janie Maxey (Frankie Cox); special friends, Blake, Lauren, Blakely, and Landry Ramsey; fishing buddy, Ashton Hatfield; and extended family and friends to numerous to mention. The family will receive friends from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, September 27th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Seal and Rev. J.R. South officiating. Family and friends will meet for an 11 a.m. graveside service on Saturday, September 28th at Kenner Wilder Cemetery in Sneedville in front of Cool Branch Church. He loved living life to the fullest everyday and enjoyed every minute but, “It’s time to go to bed - 4:30 comes early.” Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
