Bob Mitchell, age 82, of Morristown, passed away on Friday, May 18, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Bob was employed in the poultry industry for 18 years. He was in the real estate industry for 26 years and was former broker and co-owner of Remax Real Estate Ten. He was a member of the million dollar club in real estate sales. He was a graduate of The University of Tennessee and was an avid U.T. football fan. He enjoyed reading, especially World War II History, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Bob was a lifelong Methodist and served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher, active in the men’s club, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Morristown. He was active in Kiwanis Club and served as secretary for many years. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bernice Mitchell; brother, Michael Mitchell; and great grandson, Michael Mize. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Mitchell; son, Robert (Susan) Mitchell; daughter, Mary Lynn (David) Tabor; grandchildren, Lindsey (Calvin) Burgess, Cynthia (Russell) Poteet, and Gracie Ann Tabor; great grandchildren, Addie Mize, Leah Burgess, Isabelle Poteet, and Tiana Poteet; brother, James Moore (Martha) Mitchell; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Mitchell; and his therapist and special friend, Gretchen Zablocke. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday, May 20th at First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Monday, May 21st at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. J. David Tabor, Rev. Walter Weikel, and Rev. Asa Majors officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to APLS Adult Day Services at 600 N.
