Ruby Gentry, age 84, of Talbott, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Gentry; parents, Clarence and Effie Carpenter; step-daughter, Lisa McMurray; brothers, Perry Carpenter, C.W. Carpenter, and Earl Carpenter; and step-granddaughter, Wendy Blaylock. She is survived by her son, Robert Williams of Louisiana; step-son, Rick Gentry; step-daughter, Earline Harrison; grandson, Robert Joseph “Joey” Williams; step-grandchildren, Chad Harrison, Cindy Bewley, Lori Stowell, Sara McMurray, Michael Fawbush, Rebecca Carpenter, and Justin Mead; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Curtis (Maxine) Carpenter; sister, Elizabeth Bass; and several nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to caregiver Ruth Kirk and Staff. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Charlie Brewer officiating. Entombment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
