Teddy Ray Baird

Teddy Ray Baird, age 78, of Morristown, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of First Christian Church of Morristown and retired from ENKA after thirty-four years of service. He was a faithful member of the morning crew at the Alpha McDonalds who would meet to solve all the world’s problems. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Carrie Baird; two brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Phyllis Goan Baird; sons, Duayne Baird and David S. (Debbie) Baird; grandchildren, Jessica Worthington, Derek Baird, and Benjamin Baird; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Kenneth) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Edwin (Nancy) Goan and Glen O’Dell; and nieces, Jennifer, Jean, and Karen. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7th at First Christian Church of Morristown. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jack Greene and Rev. Ryan Croft officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8th at Witt Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services. Honorary pallbearers will be the gang from McDonalds.
