Vernon Leon Roberts

Vernon Leon Roberts, age 84, of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a faithful and active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was in the Townsend Men’s Sunday School Class. He enjoyed working with the Baptist Builders and Disaster Relief. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Ruby Roberts. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Jean Roberts; brother, Eldie (Joyce) Roberts of Newport; sister, Judy (Ben) Parton of Sevierville; and several close friends and church family. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9 at East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery in Knoxville for military graveside services.
