William "Bill" Mack Lunsford

William Mack Lunsford, age 78, of Morristown, was released from the earthly body that bound him by Parkinson’s Disease on Sunday, September 22, 2019, and was received in his heavenly home where he joined his beloved wife, Peggy, who predeceased him in 1990. Bill was born in Athens, TN and served over-seas in the Army as a young man. Upon completing his service obligation, he moved to Illinois to serve as the business manager at Aurora College. Following, he chose to join Anchor Brush and served as its plant manager in Morristown for many years. He then pursued the path of an entrepreneur, participating in commercial and residential real estate ventures as well as operating various restaurants. For over thirty years, he partnered with Tommy Harris and Mussie Mills and family, operating three Arby’s stores in Tennessee and Kentucky. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morristown and in later years, attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was also a Shriner and a member of the Kiwana’s Club. Bill was a kind, considerate, and generous man of steadfast faith in Christ Jesus. A man of carefully chosen words, he exemplified Psalm 37:30: “The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.” Though the disease ravaged his precious speech, we know he is now praising God clearly with his tongue and with the twinkle in his eye. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Annie Lunsford; as well as his dear sister, Martha Ann Daffron.  Bill is survived by his daughter, Karen (Todd) Nelson; son, Terry (Aleshia) Lunsford; grandchildren, Seth, Emilee, Aidan, and Conrad; brother-in-law, Walter Daffron; nephew, Jeff (Angie) Daffron; and niece, Leesa (Anson) Cable. The family would like to give special thanks to his wonderful caregivers who for so long and until the end provided tremendous comfort and loving care: Jerry Hansel, Ruth Lockhart, Jennie McClure, Rhonda Pratt, and Rosie Young. There have been several others that have provided help along the way and please know you hold a very special place in our hearts. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, September 26th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Danny Georges officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, September 27th at Jarnagin Cemetery for graveside services.
