Alberta “Beth” Ellis, age 90, of Morristown, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at her residence. She was born on August 15, 1935 in Tampa, Florida and grew up in Winter Haven, Florida where she was a life-long resident until relocating to Tennessee in 2000. Beth was born again and loved to tell you what Jesus had done for her and remind you that Jesus loves you. She was a member of Foothills Worship Center in Newport and sang southern gospel music in the group Pure’n Heart for more than thirty years. She also was an excellent seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin F. and Mary Bell King of Winter Haven, FL; son, James D. “J.D.” Williams of Lakeland, FL; sisters, Lenora (James) Luke of Winter Haven, FL and Lavada (Ernesto) Morales of Lake Wales, FL; step-brother, Leland King of Winter Haven, FL; and sister-in-law, Clara King of Winter Haven, FL. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Ellis; children, Allan D. (Fran) Williams of Port Richey, FL, Michael L. “Mike” (Pam) Williams of Bybee, Anne Rene Traylor of Morristown, Alton C. “Chuck” Traylor of Morristown, and Jimmy L. “Jay” (Lori) Jewell of Knoxville; step-sons, Landon Ellis of Philadelphia, PA and Darren Ellis of Denver, CO; step-daughter, Tina L. Thornberry of Ypsilanti, MI; brother, Leighton B. King of Newport; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jason Palmer and Rev. Steve Grimsley officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Newport. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
