Alvin Hugh McClanahan, age 77, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at Erwin Healthcare Center. He was a dedicated and loyal husband, a good man, and a skilled carpenter. He was retired from the U.S. Army and also retired from Flowers Bakery. He loved building things out of wood and built many projects for others. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen McClanahan. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice McClanahan; children, Scott (Lori) McClanahan, Sr., Penny Copp, Vickie Wilson, and Cindy Bledsoe; grandchildren, Scott Hugh McClanahan, Jr., Matthew Joseph McClanahan, Calvin Hugh McClanahan, Misty (Jeremy) Sather, Brook Lyons, Joshua (Sherry) Knight, Brittany (Blake) Galyon, and Jeffery (Kamryn) Fowler; also several great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Debbie Price and Donna Hicks; special cousins, James and Joann Amos; and special neighbors, Ed and Charlene Shoemaker and Murel and Deborah Stepp. Special thanks to Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System 3rd Floor staff, Regency Retirement Center Memory Care, and Erwin Healthcare Center.
