Alvin Roger Short

Alvin Roger Short, age 76, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, M.E. and Mae Stepp; and son, Jason Short. He is survived by his fiancé, Linda Smith; step-son, Michael (Shonia) Smith; step-grandchild, Shaelyn Smith; and step great-grandchild, Dayton Short. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10th at Bethesda Cemetery for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
