Bernadine “Bunny” Plummer: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadine “Bunny” Plummer. Bunny passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan. She was born January 26, 1950 to Farroll Junior and Fredda Jo Burchfield in Morristown, Tennessee. She resided in Morristown throughout her life until November 2024 when she moved with her family to Fort Gratiot, Michigan. Bunny was a retired teaching assistant with the Hamblen County School System. She served her community for many years as a coach, county coordinator, and director of Area 10 Special Olympics. She also coached a Challenger League team and a Unified men’s softball team for several years. She was a tireless advocate for children and adults with special needs in East Tennessee. She was a Christian lady who loved to sing in her church choir. She had also served in her church as a youth director, a Sunday School teacher, a children’s church coordinator, the Christmas Play director, and in recent years she had overseen the church bulletin. She was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church in Morristown, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughters, Kenny (Michael) Story and Kasey Plummer; as well as her granddaughter, McKenna Story, all of Fort Gratiot, Michigan; and step granddaughter, Emily Story of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Plummer; her brother, Rickey Glenn Burchfield; her father, Farroll Junior Burchfield; and her mother, Fredda Jo Burchfield. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Harold Noe officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
