Betty Joe (Hall) Darnell

Betty Joe (Hall) Darnell, age 88, of Morristown, met Jesus face to face and reunited with the love of her life, Charles Lewis Darnell, on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Mom was a hard worker and a caring mother to four boys and one girl. She raised us, along with our father, in church and stood by us in all of our life decisions. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Charles Darnell; son, Danny Darnell; parents, L.J. and Julia (Edmonds) Hall; brothers, Ray D. Hall and Curtis Hall; and sister, Imogene Rutherford. Betty is survived by her children, Mike (Kathy) Darnell, Bob (Teresa) Darnell, Chuck (Trudy) Darnell, and Lisa (Scott) Greene; grandchildren, Laura Reed, Patty Ball, Jayma Valentine, Chrissy Self, Matthew Darnell, Josh Darnell, Tyler Darnell, Jonathan Darnell, Brittany Greene, and Austin Greene; and fifteen great-grandchildren who mom always said felt the same as grandchildren. Special thanks to Gloria Thacker, Angela Pap, Leah Brooks, and Mary Ruth Fultz who gave the utmost care. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, July 6th at Holt’s Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Scott Greene and Rev. Alan Lamb officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7th at Holt’s Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Reed and Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
