Betty Jean (Short) Shields

Betty Jean Shields, age 86, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at her residence. She was a member of Manley Baptist Church and a volunteer at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Shields, Sr.; parents, Elmer and Nola Short; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Robert Shields, Jr. and Darrell (Tita) Shields; grandchild, Robert III (Pam) Shields; brother, Duke Short; sister, Hope Fields; nephew, Johnny (Penny) Cooper; and special friends, Carol Fleemon and Sue Williams. The family extends special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and to caregiver, Regina Owens. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. Friday, April 29th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. Tony Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Creek Cemetery in Seymour.  Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
