BRENDA JOYCE REED ANDERSON, age 74, of Mooresburg, went to her heavenly home on Friday, October 23, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 7, 1946, in Putnam County. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a feisty, beautiful woman who worked as an inspector at MAHLE in Morristown for more than 20 years until retirement. She was saved at an early age and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John Reed and Mary Nell Dyer; son, Shane Andrew; and brothers, Lowell and Henry Reed. She is survived by her brother and sisters, Sue (Robert) Ferrell, Marilyn Bates, Rosemary (Richard) Stubblefield, and Andrew (Ruby) Reed, all of Mooresburg; children, Maribeth Hurd of Jefferson City, Hayley Hurd of Morristown, Scottie (Wendi) Hurd of Rutledge, Susan (Terry) Jennings of Rogersville, Joey Hurd, and Vanessa (Daniel) Wilson of Bean Station; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friend, Lamar Hance; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday, October 26th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Richard Stubblefield officiating. Singers will be the Friendly View Trio from Rogersville. Family and friends will meet for an 11 a.m. graveside service on Tuesday, October 27th at Kirkpatrick Cemetery in Mooresburg.
