Brenda Kay (McCarter) Self-Weems

Brenda Kay Self Weems, age 79, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Serenity Hospice Home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Brenda was a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Maude McCarter; and son, Jason Clifford Self. She is survived by her husband, Elbert “Sonny” Weems, Jr.; sons, Tim Self, Eddie Self, Freddie Self, and Danny (Connie) Weems; grandchildren, Kenzie Short, Little Jason Self, Greg Purkey, Scotty Self, Austin Self, Austin Whitaker, and several other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kylin Self, Kaden Self, Aspen Self, and several other great-grandchildren; and sisters, Roberta Haun and Shirley Lewis. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 10th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 11th at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Henegar and Dr. Larry Parrott officiating. The body will be at the church for viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Jarnagin Cemetery.  Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
