Brian James Frankford, age 61, of Morristown, went home to be with the Heavenly father peacefully at home on Monday, December 9, 2024. He passed away peacefully after a courageous seven year battle with cancer, facing each challenge with remarkable strength and resilience. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on May 22, 1963 and graduated from Culpepper Virginia High School. He married Kathy Sharlyn (Shylen) Frankford on June 13, 1987. Brian moved to Morristown in 1985. He started a business selling ice cream out of trucks. He was well known as the Ice Cream Man in Morristown and the surrounding counties. When he and his wife were married, they started a business in 1987 together called B.K. Graphics, a screen printing company which is still running today. He was also active with the community: Food on Foot, Daily Bread, helped with many fund-raisers, and helped so many people that were in need no matter what it took to help them. Mostly, he was a loving, friendly, and caring person who loved people and who loved serving the Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Rose Frankford; brothers, Andrew Frankford, Jr. and Steven Frankford; brothers-in-law, Shannon Parker, Jody Gilbert, Earl Gilbert, Jr., and Ted O’Day; sisters-in-law, Geneva Frankford and Rose Frankford; fathers-in-law, Dale C. Winstead and Earl Gilbert; mother-in-law, Ida Burnett Winstead; and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty seven years and has been together for thirty nine years, Kathy S. Frankford; sons, Bryant N. (Denise) Frankford and Burt C. Frankford (Ashley Anderson); daughter, Elizabeth Rayann Horner (Blake Stubblefield); adopted daughter, Haylee Horner; grandchildren, Kylie Grace Frankford, Robin Goku Frankford, Christopher James Frankford, Grayson Parker Frankford, and River William Stubblefield; step-grandchildren, Bela Morales, Paul Morales, Alex Morales, Audrey Morales, and Eli Forbis; sisters, Lisa O’Day and Sue Shifflett; brothers, Phil Frankford and Greg Frankford; sisters-in-law, Shona Hill, Sherry Holmes, Brenda Williams, Jammie Gilbert, Debbie Harris, Edna Dye, Frances Wells, Teresa Frankford, and Donna Frankford; brothers-in-law, Darrell Williams, Pete Gilbert, Doug Hill, Roger Holmes, Tim Shifflett, Steve Wells, and Hal Patterson; step mother-in-law, Jeannie Gilbert-Allison; eleven very special people, Shannon Murry, David Ervin (Briana Chastain, Valkyrie Chastain), Michael Giorgio, Zak Devotie, Richie Devotie, Nat Ballard, Jason Nicely, Jennifer Nicely, and John Yardley; and best friends, Jeff Shannon Horne, Shawn Horne, Lowtar Woelki, and Randy “Rooster” Atkins. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, December 13th at Mt. Vale Church of God. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Phillip Ruth officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 14th at Wolfe-Winstead Cemetery on Wolfe Road in Thorn Hill, also known as Heck-Winstead Cemetery.
