Carmela “Carmie” Marie Martin: It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carmela “Carmie” Marie Martin, on April 12, 2025 at her home, at the age of 91. Born in Rome, New York in 1934 to Pasquel and Anna Fontana (both deceased), she was married to the late George Duncan Martin, who she cherished deeply. Carmela leaves behind her sister, Rose Buchicio and brother, Joseph Fontana. She was a radiant beacon of love and support, always present to offer wisdom and comfort in times of need. Carmela’s devotion to her daughters, Judy Ann Wilder (husband, Mike), Janice Mae Martin, and Georgia Dee Miller (husband, David), was unwavering and unparalleled. Her boundless love extended to her grandchildren, Jessica Wilder, Christina Price (husband, Matt), Justin Miller (wife, Ashley), Brittany Beckelhimer (husband, Levi), and Courtney Shute (husband, Kyle); great-grandchildren, Luke Price, Case Price, Cannon Miller, Ilaria Beckelhimer, Stella Beckelhimer, Rylan Shute, and Kylah Shute. Each family member felt the warmth and embrace of her nurturing spirit. Carmela lived a life rich in faith, deeply devoted to Christ, and guided by the teachings of the Holy Bible. Her steadfast belief in Psalm 48:14, “For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end,” was a testament to her unwavering faith and a comfort to all who knew her. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17th at Glendale Global Methodist Church, 3315 Glendale Road, Bybee, TN 37713, for graveside services with Chaplain Ben Chitwood officiating.
