Carolyn Booker Obituary

Carolyn Ann Booker, age 77, passed away on Monday, April 27th. Carolyn was raised in East Tennessee, a place she carried in her heart throughout her life. She worked as a short order cook, a caregiver for the elderly, and a homemaker—roles that reflected her deep care for others. She was a woman who loved her family above all else. Carolyn found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, being around horses, and going anywhere the road would take her. She was known for her fierce devotion to and for always standing up for the people she loved. Carolyn was a woman of faith. She taught her children about Jesus and what it means to have faith even when things seem impossible, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy in their lives. Carolyn is survived by her children, Amy (Scott) McAmis, Scott (Amy) Booker, and Wesley (Brandy) Booker; her grandchildren, Micah (Catelynn) McAmis, Megan (Burton) Ellis, Kaleigh (Geriad) Coffey, Payton Ward, Bre Ward, Bryson Hardesty and Sissy; and her great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Dennis Booker; Father and Stepmother, Robert and Ida Ragsdale; Mother, Iuna Farris; her sisters, Barbara McAmis and Nancy Grantham; her mother-in-law and mentor, Mabel Booker; and her beloved aunt, Norma Jean Britton. Carolyn will be missed but we are comforted by our faith in Jesus and His promises. “For we do not grieve as those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. Graveside services will be held at Prices Cemetery in Romeo, Tennessee at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1st, officiated by Bob Brown. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Friends of Hospice Serenity House. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
