Charles Edward Thacker

Charles “Charlie” Edward Thacker, age 65 of Washburn, TN, formerly of Phyllis, KY, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2025 Surrounded by his loved ones at his home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Slone Varney. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Gloria Wallace Thacker; sons, Dalton and Dustin Thacker; father, Orville Varney, of Phyllis, KY; brother, Jeff (Jennifer) Varney, of Concord, NC; honorary grandchildren, Amber Wallace, Quentin Wallace, Abby Wallace, Jenna Hackney, Emma Hackney, Ryder Hackney, and Kalum Fernandez; nephew, Mark Reed Bentley, whom he loved like a son; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be Jason Wallace, Dalton Thacker, Quentin Wallace, Kris Fernandez, and Joe Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Thacker, Jeff Varney, and Mark Reed Bentley. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Lyndall Welch officiating. Family and friends will meet for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service on Wednesday, December 31st at Kitts Cemetery in Washburn. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
